Thuringia is proud of the companies in its territory. Their success is a reflection of the state's economic appeal. "Market Champions" presents a selection of high-performing companies: market and technology leaders that offer impressive products and services in Germany, Europe or worldwide.
The "Market Champions" project was created by the Thuringian Ministry of Economy, Labor and Technology and the State Development Corporation of Thuringia - LEG. A survey conducted by LEG identified 94 companies in Thuringia. They include well-known global players such as Carl Zeiss and Jenoptik as well as hidden champions like Sportident, Sios Meßtechnik and Dyomics.
Survey findings:
94 Thuringian companies were identified as market and technology leaders. Most of the companies operate in these industries:
- Life sciences (27)
- Electronics/optoelectronics (26)
- Mechanical engineering and plant construction (9)
Regional distribution:
- East Thuringia, especially Jena (42)
- Central Thuringia, especially Erfurt and Ilm County (30)
- Southwest and North Thuringia (22)
